Who doesn’t love a spontaneous trip away? I know I do. So when I heard that some of my lovely friends, and fellow Hiho Silver brand ambassadors, were heading to Gatcombe Horse Trials on Friday 2nd August, I thought I’d better not miss out – I have a bit of a FOMO issue.
The main reason for the get together was to support the new Hiho Silver launch, which was an exclusive collaboration with British Eventing.
The launch boasted a collection of beautiful Hiho pieces with a BE twist. Including a friendship bracelet, in red, white and blue and in true Hiho style and attention to detail, the BE logo on the silver disc.
Also launched was a new bead with CZ crystals, again in the recognisable red, blue and white colours. They really would make a wonderful addition to any jewellery collection and a great keepsake for any British Eventing riders.
But before the launch later that afternoon, we had a jam-packed day at Gatcombe. So let’s take you back to the start.
Waking up early at a lovely hotel in Cirencester, Stratton Park Hotel. I opened the curtains to a beautiful sunny morning and I could feel the warmth from the sun coming in through the window, which made me even more eager to get out of the hotel and start heading to Gatcombe.
After a very quick stop in Cirencester to pick up my share of picnic snacks, I arrived at Gatcombe Horse Trails and what a stunning location! I hadn’t been before and I couldn’t believe just how pretty the setting was there.
I arrived a little earlier than everyone else, with time to grab a quick cup of tea and have a wonder around the shopping village. Meeting up with the others at 11:00am, at quite possibly the perfecting meeting spot… the Hiho Silver Stand.
It was great to have a catch up and look at all of the jewellery, which was beautifully displayed across the stand, as always. It’s safe to say I have my eye on a few pieces, which will probably make their way onto my next birthday / Christmas list…
It was a lovely hot sunny day and perfect weather for our picnic. Now, when Emma text to say she’d arrived, I wasn’t expecting this.
We arrived at the field to find a full al fresco afternoon tea set up. There were picnic blankets laid out, a table filled with delicious homemade quiche, scotch eggs, sandwiches – it really was a real ‘Dimpsey day out’ treat from Emma and Andrew.
As we sat in the sunshine, enjoying our picnic and chatting about exciting upcoming plans and all things business, blogging and life in general, I realised something. In that moment, I felt immensely grateful to be surrounded by such inspiring, supportive people, who not only are fellow bloggers and business owners, but friends.
This picnic was more than just a picnic. Not only because Emma and Andrew laid on an absolute feast of a lunch but because I got to spend the afternoon with friends who are all round great people – my kind of people. And it’s not often we are lucky enough to make these connections.
After the picnic and speech from King of the Road, Andrew, the new BE collection was officially launched and it was time to get back in the car and travel back down to Sussex. I left feeling super inspired and very excited to meet up with these lovely people at the next Hiho & Co meet up. Make sure you are signed up to their mailing list if you’d like to come along to the next one. It’d be lovely to see some new faces there and meet a few more of you in real life.
