There is a buzz of Badminton in the air, as we arrive in Badminton Week 2019. Badminton is always a super exciting event, but this year is even more special as they celebrate their 70th Anniversary.
To kick start things, we have the anticipation for this year’s trot up styles, which Badminton’s sponsor and official jeweller, Hiho Silver, are once again judging. I thoroughly enjoy catching bits of the trot up, it’s a wonderful start to the event, it’s always great to see everyone’s individual style. Oh, and don’t Hiho just do a wonderful job of judging too!?
Then it’s onto the dressage phase, which I will be watching on the tv (yes, everyone I work with does have to endure the horsey commentary on the telly for two days!) and then Saturday rolls around, and it’s cross country day. I’m pleased to say I will be there again this year for the xc day to walk the course and do some serious shopping.
Now, there is sooo much that makes Badminton wonderful, but the shopping really is quite something. But if you don’t want to spend all day shopping and you want to be out watching the action on the course, then here’s a list of stands which make my ‘must see’ list.
Hiho Silver – Stand 189
Now, Badminton aren’t the only ones with an anniversary this year… Badmintons official jewelers Hiho Silver also have their 25th anniversary this year. Their stand is always beautiful and full to the brim with beautiful pieces to add to your collection and if you’d like a little keepsake from your day at Badminton, you should definitely check out their ‘Badminton Collection’.
The collection includes some of the loveliest little charms to fit onto your Foxtail Bracelet (the Badminton House is a personal favorite of mine) a Badminton Ring and even cufflinks – all of which are filled with their usual intricate detail and charm.
If you’re anything like me you’ll want to have a little browse of their website and make a short list before you go: https://www.hihosilver.co.uk/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw5J_mBRDVARIsAGqGLZBINig4M_ucB9RNtSBUgOxFvlx5llJajnSCx9IBnUN3MTRGUl5y2yIaAobOEALw_wcB
Mackenzie & George – Rural Crafts Marquee
The Mackenzie & George Belton belt was actually my first Badminton purchase of 2018 and they even did personalization on their stand, whilst I waited! Their range of belts, fedoras, feather pins and clutch bags are all absolutely beautiful and timeless additions to your wardrobe.
Now, if that’s not enough to get them on the shopping short list (which I very highly doubt!), then they have a new product launching that’ll be on their stand and oh my goodness, I cannot wait to see them in real life. Head on over to their Instagram and take a look for a sneak peak at their silk scarves & twillies…!
Other wonderful stands on my shopping list this year include the following, but by no means is this list exhaustive and I cannot wait to browse through the stands and hopefully find some hidden gems along the way.
- Fairfax and Favor – Stand 247
- Super X Country – Rural Crafts Marquee
- Albion – Stand 13
- Horse Health – Stand 93
- Horse & Hound – Stand 6
- Joules – Stand 14
For now, I’m sitting down to stick Badminton Radio on to listen to all the latest on the trot up style (I hear Hiho’s King of the Road, Andrew, may be having his say) and keeping an eye on Hiho’s Instagram stories for all the best bits from Queen Bee Emma Warren… Here’s to the start of Badminton 2019!
