Thursday 6th September marked the date for the Hiho #Styleskillsandsilver Instameet at The Fish Hotel in the beautiful Cotswolds. We were promised a fabulous day of style and skills workshops, with plenty of cake to fuel us throughout the day and they certainly delivered (and some!). I can truly say I had the best time, enjoying the style and skills workshops, meeting other likeminded people and getting to chat to the experts themselves, who so kindly and honestly shared their wisdom with us.
Firstly, let me just tell you all what a beautiful setting the Fish Hotel is in. The mile long drive lets you enjoy breath taking views across the countryside and I don’t think Hiho could have chosen a better location. The day was held at Springfield House, a part of the Fish Hotel and the rooms were light and airy, with a modern yet comfortable and cosy twist. So from the very start, we were utterly spoilt!
Meeting at 09:30am we had a chance to meet fellow bloggers, business owners and of course the lovely people who were hosting the day and it goes without saying, we started the morning with a cup of tea (or coffee, much to Rhea’s disappointment!).
Without giving away all of the #SSS Secrets, the workshops were fantastic. The skills workshop being held by Rhea Freeman Business Coach, PR & Marketing Guru, Rachel the lovely lady behind Sweet Images, Ruth who runs the wonderful Dressage Anywhere & Sophie Callahan who you’ll all know from her stunning photography skills, who chatted to us all about our content; from creating it initially, to making the most of it across all platforms. They had all sorts of beautiful items (including Hiho Jewellery, Fairfax boots and bags, Mackenzie and George hats and feathers and some beautiful Bloom and Wild Flowers to name just a few!) for us to have a go at making flat lays with. I’m sure you’ve already spotted the outcome of my flat lay from Thursday.
After lunch we went onto our next workshop all about style, held by Melanie the very stylish co-founder Mackenzie and George , Karen McConnell, gorgeous style icon and blogger & last but not least the lovely Harriet Edwards, style and lifestyle blogger, A Girl About Country. We were given inspiration on how to put outfits together to make you feel great – from country days out, to dinner and drinks. Again, it was another super session and I mean who doesn’t want to be able to put together some outfits, styled with accessories from your favourite brands!?
‘I left feeling totally inspired, motivated and excited – the price of the ticket couldn’t possibly cover the value of everything I took away from the day.’
I took away so much from the day, not only from the fantastic workshops but also from just getting to chat to such a truly friendly and lovely team of people, who were so open and honest, with some invaluable advise. I also got to meet some really inspirational people from the equestrian and country world too – its not often you get to group together with that many people who all have a common interest and it was fascinating to listen to their stories.
I was chatting to Sophie at the end and she quite rightly said that actually, in our world of equestrian and country businesses, there isn’t huge opportunity for meet-ups and events like this and there really should be! Hiho have come up with such a unique and wonderful way to get people together, that benefits both us (businesses, bloggers) and the brands, in such a positive way. I hope that after the success of this event, there will be more days like this to come; if there is I’ll be jumping at the chance to get a ticket.
If you have a true passion for anything, you’ll know how much it means to have opportunities such as this. I hope everyone else took away as much as I did from the day, my brain is fit to burst from all of the tips and tricks shared with us. I know I have already said it so many times… but Thank you, Merci, Grazie Mille to everyone who made the day so special.
